Have you ever asked yourself? Who Created you and Why? And what comes after death?
The Scholarly Committee at the Islamic Content Service Association for Languages
Who created you, O man? If you look at your body under a microscope, you would see a world of precision and wonder, for every cell in your body carries within it genetic information with complex codes. Have you ever asked yourself who inscribed these codes? And who placed them in their correct position?
Every towering structure and every humble house tells the story of its maker; is it conceivable that this vast universe, with its beauty, precision, and meticulous order, exists without a Creator?
O human, just as your mind would not accept being told that a meticulously crafted smartphone appeared suddenly without a designer or maker, or that a complex network of devices operates in harmony and precision without a programmer or supervisor, likewise, reason cannot accept being told that this great universe, with all its order, creativity, precise laws, and perfect system, came into existence without a Creator!
Every piece of this universe, from the smallest atom to the largest galaxy, indicates the greatness of its Creator; it is intellectually impossible for this precise order to have arisen from chaos. Reason rejects the notion that this universe emerged from nothingness, or that this exquisite and complex order is the product of blind chance!
Just as sound reason and a sound natural disposition lead a person to believe in the existence of a Creator of the universe, they also urge us to reflect upon the attributes of this Creator and His rights over us.
Reflecting on the attributes of this Creator opens for us doors of profound understanding regarding the necessity of ascribing to Him absolute perfection and exalting Him above all deficiencies.
This means that the Creator is characterized by all attributes of beauty and greatness. He, Glory be to Him, is capable of all things, knowing of all things, and wise in all that He has created and decreed. This perfection is not merely a possibility but a logical necessity, for any deficiency in His attributes would lead to disorder in creation and management, which contradicts the precision we witness in the universe.
The transcendence from deficiency necessitates that the Creator is self-sufficient and in no need of His creation, for He requires none, while all are in need of Him for their existence and continuance. He, Glorified and Exalted be He, is free from having a partner or offspring, as these are manifestations of deficiency and incapacity, and Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, is exalted above all that.
If Allah is the Great Creator, endowed with attributes of perfection and magnificence, who brought us and the universe into existence from nothingness, who owns all that is within it, who provides for us and encompasses us with His mercy, and who is the Disposer of all affairs; should we not then thank Him and seek how to earn His pleasure, fulfill the duty incumbent upon us, and strive to achieve the purpose for which we were created?
Is it logical that Allah created us and then did not clarify what He wants from us? Why are we here? What is the goal and purpose of our existence in life? What comes after death?
Consider with me, if a person built a magnificent palace, equipped it with the latest technology, and then suddenly proceeded to demolish it entirely upon its completion for no reason. Can we describe such a person as wise? Is it not self-evident that such an action would be deemed vain and unbefitting of a rational individual?
If such an action is unacceptable for a human, how can we imagine that Allah, the All-Wise and the All-Aware, created this magnificent universe with such creativity and precision, only to destroy it without purpose or wisdom?
Allah created mankind for a great wisdom, which is to worship Him alone without associating any partners with Him, and He created them to test them in this world. He appointed for them a time when they will be resurrected on the Day of Judgment to be held accountable for their deeds. Whoever believes in Allah and responds to His call will have the eternal bliss of Paradise, and whoever turns away from the truth will be among the people of the Hellfire.
Worship is an obligatory right upon us because it is the purpose of our existence and a sign of our gratitude and acknowledgment of the Lordship and Divinity of Allah.
Reflect on the fact that Allah Almighty is the One Who created you and honored you with hearing and sight, and surrounded you with countless blessings. He is the One Who causes the blood to flow in your veins, and provides you with water and air, and you need Him at every moment. Without His mercy and care, you would perish and your strength would vanish. Indeed, He Almighty ensured your provision while you were a helpless fetus in your mother's womb, possessing no power over anything.
Does not this Great Creator deserve to be worshipped as He wills, not as you desire?! Consider if you wanted to give your mother a gift, would you choose what pleases your own whims, or would you strive to know what she loves to make her happy with what suits her? Similarly, the worship of Allah, the Exalted, should not be according to our whims or inherited customs, but as He, glorified be He, has willed it, and in the manner He has commanded us.
Worship must be sincerely for Allah Almighty alone, with no partner; it is not permissible for a person to devote worship to other than his Creator. The gravest of sins that warrants eternal punishment in Hellfire is associating partners with Allah. This occurs when a person worships any of Allah's creations besides Him, such as the worship of idols, the sun, or the moon, or the worship of a human being, an animal, or a righteous man. All of these are forms of Shirk and disbelief, and for one who dies upon that state, the recompense shall be eternal punishment in Hellfire.
Allah has sent numerous prophets and messengers to inform us of the purpose of our existence in this world and the objective of life. The message of all the messengers was one: the message of Islam and the call to worship the Creator alone without associating any partners with Him. However, some distorted and altered what the previous messengers brought. Therefore, Allah sent the seal of the messengers, Muhammad (ﷺ), and revealed to him the final message for humanity, which is the Holy Qur’an. Numerous rational and scientific evidences prove the Qur’an is the speech of Allah and that it is the only book that has not been subjected to distortion or alteration. Allah has informed us in the Qur’an that He will not accept from humanity any religion other than Islam, and that the message of all the messengers was one: the call to the monotheism of the Creator and to worship Him alone without associating any partners with Him. Allah has informed us in the Qur’an that there will be Paradise and eternal bliss for the believers, and Hellfire and a painful punishment for those who worshiped other than Allah or refused to enter Islam.
What distinguishes Islam from other religions is that Muslims are the only ones capable of presenting rational evidence and scientific facts, relying on trustworthy sources of knowledge, to prove that the Holy Qur’an in their hands today is the Word of Allah, the Creator, glorified be He, preserved from alteration and distortion.
The Noble Qur’an is the Book that Allah revealed to His Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ). For over fourteen centuries, Allah has challenged humanity to produce the like of it, or even a single Surah (chapter) similar to it, yet they have failed to do so. The challenge remains effective to this day, with none being able to match its eloquence, clarity, miraculous nature, and legislation. Moreover, throughout the ages, no one has been able to produce anything like it, or even comparable to it. The inimitability of the Qur’an is not limited to its language, which has reached the pinnacle of eloquence and clarity, but it also extends to include logical and scientific evidence that confirms it is the Word of Allah. Since the Noble Qur’an contains clear evidence establishing that it is the Word of Allah, the rational and logical course of action is to believe in it and follow its teachings, rather than relying on other books that have been subject to human alteration.
The sound mind leads us to the word of the Creator, Who fashioned the universe and perfected its order. It is the most truthful source for knowing the truth. When we find in the Qur’an this miraculous language, scientific facts, and comprehensive legislation, along with its preservation from distortion through the ages, there is no escape from acknowledging that it is the word of Allah.
Thus, belief in what the Qur’an has brought is not merely a matter of faith, but a rational decision aligned with the logic of seeking truth.
Allah the Almighty has clarified in the Noble Qur’an that He did not create us in vain, but rather for His worship.
Allah has informed us in the Qur’an that this worldly life we live is but a temporary phase that will soon come to an end, whereas the true and eternal life will be in the Hereafter when the believers enter Paradise and the disbelievers enter the Fire.
The Creator, Who brought us into existence from nothingness, is certainly capable of bringing us back to life after death. Through the signs of Allah around us in the universe, we witness tangible evidence of Allah's boundless power in reviving what was dead. Just as Allah brings forth fire from the green tree, produces crops and fruits from barren land, and creates the embryo in the womb from a drop, He Almighty is capable of resurrecting the dead and raising them from their graves for recompense on the Day of Judgment. Indeed, Allah is Most Capable of everything. And it would be a grave injustice for the lives of the oppressor and the oppressed to conclude without accountability or recompense.
One may ask: Why Islam and not any of other religions?
The greatest thing that distinguishes man from all other creatures is the intellect, and its function is to think and search for truths.
Islam is a religion that aligns with sound reason and unspoiled natural disposition, offering logical answers to the profound existential questions: Why are we here? What is the purpose of our life? And what is our fate after death?
Islam is based upon devoting worship to the Creator alone and the testimony that there is no god but Allah. This is the first testimony, and it is the foundation of faith in Islam, and it means that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah alone.
This testimony entails:
Tawhīd: That is, to believe in a God Who alone is worthy of worship, has no partner, nor a son, nor an equal.
"Baraa’ah" (disavowal) from Shirk (polytheism): The denial of all idols and gods made by humans.
Islam mandates belief in all the messengers, and thus Muslims believe, as Allah has informed us in the Qur’an, that Jesus is Allah's servant and Messenger. He is not Allah's son, for Allah is great and far above having a wife or a son, as He is Self-sufficient and free from all needs. Allah has told us in the Qur’an that Jesus was a prophet to whom He granted many miracles and that Allah sent him to call his people to worship Him alone, with no partner. Furthermore, He informed us that Jesus did not ask people to worship him; rather, he himself worshiped his Creator. Therefore, if you wish to truly believe in Jesus in a manner pleasing to Allah, you must embrace Islam.
Allah has informed us in the Qur'an that Jesus commanded his people to worship Allah alone and warned them against Shirk.
Is it logical for a rational person to worship a created individual like himself, who gets hungry and thirsty and cannot avert death or harm from himself?! How can you, O human being, worship Jesus, son of Mary, when he was a human who needed food and drink, and who turned to his Creator in prayer?! Can the intellect conceive that a deity prays to himself?! Is Allah not the One characterized by greatness, unique in His perfection, and free from any likeness or equal? Is not everything in the universe under His power and dominion? How can it be conceived that the Creator of the skies and the earth would descend to be born as a child, then surrender Himself to His creation to be crucified? Those who are crucified and killed are mortal humans, whereas the Creator is the Ever-Living, who does not die, the All-Sustaining; neither drowsiness nor sleep overtakes Him. Is it not from the perfection of His greatness and majesty that He is exalted above such things?
Allah has informed us in the Noble Qur'an that all the messengers came with a single message, which is to call their people to worship Allah alone, without associating any partners with Him. However, over time, some distorted this eternal message, obscuring the light of monotheism brought by the prophets. Thus, Allah sent the final messenger, Muhammad (ﷺ), and revealed to him the Noble Qur'an to renew the message of monotheism that all the previous messengers had conveyed.
In conclusion, we say to you, O man:
Islam is the religion of reason and natural disposition, the sole religion ordained by the Great Creator for humanity. A wise person must hasten to embrace Islam by believing in Allah as his Lord, Islam as his religion, and Muhammad as his messenger. This is a matter over which humans have no choice, as Allah will question everyone on the Day of Judgment about their response to the divine messages. If they believe, they will be rewarded with great attainment and supreme success. If they disbelieve, a manifest loss will be their recompense.
If you are searching for true happiness in this world and salvation in the Hereafter, the greatest decision you can make in your life is to embrace Islam. All you have to do is say these words from a sincere, believing heart: “I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah.” Then, you must begin to learn your religion and act in accordance with what these two testimonies necessitate: faith in Allah and His Messenger and adherence to the pillars of Islam.
Say it now, and do not be hesitant; for death may come unexpectedly. Do not postpone a decision of such great importance. Do not allow Satan an opportunity to steer you away from good. Be courageous, and begin your path to enlightenment and guidance.
Make your choice now, and begin a new life filled with tranquility and contentment.
"I testify that there is no god worthy of worship except Allah, and I testify that Muhammad is Allah’s Messenger.”
