「タスニーム」は「スィナーム（高い場所）」という語から派生した言葉と言われ、高い場所から、天国の民の部屋や家へと流れ注ぐ飲み物。あるいは空中を流れ、彼らの杯にちょうどいい塩梅（あんばい）で注がれる飲み物（アル＝バガウィー５：22６参照）。
