The best of you are those who learn the Qur’an and teach it
‘Uthmān ibn ‘Affān (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Prophet (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"The best of you are those who learn the Qur’an and teach it."
«خَيْرُكُمْ مَنْ تَعَلَّمَ الْقُرْآنَ وَعَلَّمَهُ».
The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) informs that the best and higher-standing among Muslims in the sight of Allah are those who learn the Qur’an - in terms of recitation, memorization, tartīl (measured recitation), understanding, and interpretation - and teach others the knowledge of the Qur’an that they possess, along with acting upon it.
The Hadīth highlights the excellence of the Qur’an and that it is the best speech, for it is the word of Allah.
The best learners are those who teach others and do not keep the knowledge to themselves only.
Learning the Qur’an and teaching it comprises its recitation, meanings, and rulings.
